I discovered roller skating during the COVID pandemic at the former airport at Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin. In that open space, among the old and new skating communities, I came across Jam Skate. That style captivated me with its blend of technique and improvisation. Although there are established steps, what inspired me most was its openness to new moves.
My freestyle approach is influenced by contemporary dance, breakdance, and Latin rhythms—dances that have accompanied me throughout my dancer career. I called it Urban Latin Roller Dance: a form of expression that mixes roller skate techniques, floorwork and contemporary dance movements to the beats of hip hop, funk and Latin music.
